Real Moms

by

My friend Leslie over at My Mommy’s Place tagged me for this neat meme about Real Moms. So here are my thoughts on the subject:

REAL MOMS TRUST THEIR INSTINCTS

This one is simple. Anyone who’s read this blog knows that I have been in and out and around and around with various doctor’s over my son’s health. I am constantly battling against people who want to pooh-pooh my concerns off as overprotective first time mom syndrome. Yet my previously happy, healthy, infection free child has now been sick in some shape or form for the past six months. So I continue in my quest to determine just what exactly is going on. Real moms know their child better than anyone. Real moms know the difference between picking up a bug and feeling like crap for months on end. Real moms stay up late researching anything that could possibly explain the sudden change. Real moms go toe to toe with medical professionals and make sure they HEAR what is being said. Real moms don’t rest until they have the answers their child needs.

What a neat topic! I have to go on … it’s just too easy …

Real moms buck the system
Real moms play in the dirt
Real moms still make their husbands feel sexy
Real moms enjoy a sticky popsicle as much as the next guy
Real moms go down the slide at the park
Real moms love their children with all they have

Okay I’ll stop. For now. And the five REAL MOMS I would like to elect?

Sharon, Audrey and Jane at Pinks and Blues Girls

Erinn over at Parenting Our Children

Wendy over at Adoption and Fire - Though Wendy does not yet have her daughter in her arms, she is more of a real mom than most that I know.

About Parenting Toddlers

Raising a toddler is one of the most rewarding experiences. We learn just how much love we have in the deepest recesses of our hearts and just how deep the well of our patience can go with only three hours of sleep. We learn to see the world from a new perspective and we delight in the very basic achievements of our children. Amid their tantrums and shouting "No!" toddlers help us to stretch our imaginations and rediscover the books we enjoyed when we were children. Rebecca will share stories of her own children as toddlers, review parenting and children's books and offer suggestions for everything from potty training to catching bugs with a straight face. She will share craft ideas, fun activities, how to form a playgroup, nutrition for toddlers, development, adding a new sibling, your toddler as the youngest child, adopting a toddler and more.
