Food Fight!

Okay, so does anyone have a wonderful recommendation for one of those handy dandy stick to the floor and catch all the random food mat thingys? Better yet, is there one that will actually reach up and catch the food BEFORE it even gets flung? Alex has apparently been hanging out in the Cubs bullpen lately, because food now goes from in the mouth, to out of the mouth, to being PITCHED in any random direction. This was especially fun this morning when we had oatmeal AND toast with jelly. The resulting chaos of which I would have happily taken a photo of, but my digital camera is currently not working and is instead waiting patiently for me to take it somewhere and have it looked at.

Oh, and I also forgot to mention that the dog, the BIG ONE, was kind enough to vomit all over the living room last night, so my husband and I got a lovely “Good Morning!” welcome when we woke up this morning. I have been steam-cleaning myself silly for the past hour.

Top this off with the fact that I desperately need to vacuum, do the dishes, finish the laundry, clean the bathrooms, change the beds, scoop the backyard (which I’m sure all of you are jumping up and volunteering to help with, right?), dust, clean the mirrors and glass, wipe out the fridge, and wipe the kitchen floor. Happy Friday to me!

Guess what?

Some of it just ain’t gonna make it.

I thought that a dog was the solution for “one that will actually reach up and catch the food BEFORE it even gets flung”… he’s not supposed to be ADDING to the chaos (someone needs to tell him)

So how much cleaning did you actually get done this weekend? LOL! My little one is the same way at meal times. I wish I could just take her outside and hose her down.

About Parenting Toddlers

Raising a toddler is one of the most rewarding experiences. We learn just how much love we have in the deepest recesses of our hearts and just how deep the well of our patience can go with only three hours of sleep. We learn to see the world from a new perspective and we delight in the very basic achievements of our children. Amid their tantrums and shouting "No!" toddlers help us to stretch our imaginations and rediscover the books we enjoyed when we were children. Rebecca will share stories of her own children as toddlers, review parenting and children's books and offer suggestions for everything from potty training to catching bugs with a straight face. She will share craft ideas, fun activities, how to form a playgroup, nutrition for toddlers, development, adding a new sibling, your toddler as the youngest child, adopting a toddler and more.
