mack truck cars playsetShake & Go Racers - Mater the Tow Truck and Lightning McQueen. My little guy LOVES Mater, he begs us to talk like Mater and cackles at him. Since he also loves to drive his little cars all over the place, this is a great size for him to both push around and shake up. The shake & go’s have always been nice and sturdy, in my opinion, as well, which is a big thing around here with the crash and bash test to which he submits all his beloved objects.

Treating yourself this holiday season

With the busyness of the holidays and the focus on others, it’s easy to forget to treat yourself now and then. Here’s a list of things that moms do to treat themselves to give you ideas:

- Buy yourself fresh cut flowers.

- Go to the hairdresser, get a fresh cut, even a color or some highlights if you have time.

A cute craft idea - reindeer puppets!

Reindeer pupperOverwhelmed posted this cute craft idea from the Enchanted Learning website on her WFMW today and it was just too cute not to share!

Craft Materials:
Paper bags
Deep red (or another color) construction paper
Glue
Scissors
Markers or crayons
Optional (google eyes)

Instructions:
1. Trace two hands on red construction paper. Cut them out. These will be the reindeer’s antlers.

2. Fold the two square edges of a paper bag under (at the dotted lines), to form the reindeer’s head.

3. You now have the shape of the reindeer’s head for the puppet.

4. Glue, tape, or staple the handprints behind the reindeer’s head.

5. Cut out eyes from construction paper (or glue on googly eyes). Using red paper, cut out and glue on a large red nose. Glue them to the reindeer’s face. Draw a mouth with a marker or crayons.

Sick of toys?? Get practical this Christmas!

Add useful items to your toddler’s Christmas list this year! You know those toys are already taking over your home. Now, I’m sure they are going to get plenty of toys, but when making their Christmas list, you can expand upon the toy idea and include practical items as well. Do they need a new bedframe?? A whole bedroom set?? A new comforter and sheet set??

About Parenting Toddlers

Raising a toddler is one of the most rewarding experiences. We learn just how much love we have in the deepest recesses of our hearts and just how deep the well of our patience can go with only three hours of sleep. We learn to see the world from a new perspective and we delight in the very basic achievements of our children. Amid their tantrums and shouting "No!" toddlers help us to stretch our imaginations and rediscover the books we enjoyed when we were children. Rebecca will share stories of her own children as toddlers, review parenting and children's books and offer suggestions for everything from potty training to catching bugs with a straight face. She will share craft ideas, fun activities, how to form a playgroup, nutrition for toddlers, development, adding a new sibling, your toddler as the youngest child, adopting a toddler and more.
